A Pricing Plan can be created in section Settings/ Prices, by clicking on + on Pricing Plans.
A rate plan is a data structure in which, for each day, all prices of all room types are defined for each occupancy and possibly for each treatment.
Since a plan defines all the prices of each day of the year, it makes no sense to call it "High season" or "Low season", the whole plan is not linked to a specific period. For example, it could be nominated as "Standard" or "Company Conventions ..." or "Non-refundable Offer".
The rate plans are of 2 types:
- Time line: This is an aggregation of fragments (or daily prices) associated to different time frames.
- Strictly daily: It is possible to specify the prices of each day of the calendar.
The "time line" plan
The time line rate plan consists of a set of Seasons with a predefined Price. A Season is a time frame defined by two dates (from, to) to which a Fragment or a set of Daily Rates is associated. The Default Prices can be a Fragment or left blank.
For each calendar day the plan defines the prices as follows:
- If the day falls within a Season (included into From and To), the price is the one of the Fragment (or Daily Rate set) associated with that Season.
- If the day does not fall under any Season set, the price is the one of the Fragment associated in the Default Prices box. If no Fragment is associated with the Default Prices box, the maximum prices defined on the rooms are read.
In the example of the above image, prices from 01 to 20 April are defined one by one as a set of daily rates. In the days from January 11th to March 31st, since there is no season assigned, the default price is what has been set into the Default Prices box, so the rate plan "Standard".
While in the Fragment the prices of a week are defined and these are repeated throughout all the weeks of that Season, on the daily rates it is possible to specify the price of each single day of that Season.
Initially the prices are pre-populated with the maximum ones configured on the rooms, the prices for the various occupancy are eventually calculated by the price transformer configured on the room.
In case of use of the Plugin Boards, it is possible to manage the prices for each treatment.
On each day you can manually define the price of each room, for each occupancy, and possibly for each treatment.
This tool requires a more detailed configuration but allows a very refined price management. It becomes comfortable if you make revenue and implement a very dynamic and attentive market price policy in your area.
The "strictly daily" plan
In a strictly daily plan, all prices for each day can be specified in detail. It is practically equivalent to a time line plan in which there is a single period, all set up with Daily rates.
It allows extremely refined price management but also requires a lot of set-up work.
Use of pricing plans
Like the fragment, the plan can also be used when creating a reservation.
